One problem, four fronts
Everything here is an attempt to widen access to learning, skills and opportunity. The settings change: classrooms, products, government strategies, university corridors. The purpose does not.
Education and academic leadership
I am Academic Team Lead at Fairfield School of Business in Leicester, working across programmes delivered in partnership with Bath Spa University, Birmingham Newman University and Ravensbourne University London. I joined FSB in June 2024 as a Lecturer in Business, became a Course Coordinator, and moved into team leadership from there.
The role is broad by design. I mentor and support lecturers, coordinate course delivery and timetabling, lead staff induction and development, and work on the quality systems that keep assessment fair and teaching consistent. A large part of my focus is student success and engagement for a diverse community in which many students are returning to education or studying alongside work and family.
I have taught and led work in academic development, critical thinking, research skills, business management, marketing, business finance, operations and project management.
EdTech and product development
From 2017 to 2024 I co-founded and helped lead Steamledge Limited, a Nigerian education technology company. I held senior product, technology and growth responsibilities across its life, from a first cohort of twenty students to programmes that had trained more than 80,000 students and around 1,500 STEM teachers by 2023.
The products I am proudest of were designed around real barriers rather than idealised users. Allon Fasaha met out-of-school children where they were, online and offline. TechXplorer put live technology teaching into ordinary schools. My Learning Friend addressed learning gaps with structured digital content, and Blueberry AI Tutor explored intelligent exam preparation early. My teams also built platforms for talent management, digital readiness assessment, attendance and billing used in skills and public-sector programmes.
Digital skills and public innovation
Products alone cannot fix an education system. Between 2020 and 2024 I worked as a consultant on national and state digital skills efforts in Nigeria, including the NITDA National Digital Literacy Framework, the National Digital Skills Strategy, and, as lead consultant, the Smart Katsina Digital Transformation Strategy.
I have also served as a member of the UNDP-convened Northern Ecosystem Working Group, contributed voluntary technical advice on ICT policy, and supported the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme, including digital and workplace readiness screening for thousands of candidates and the mentoring of fellows.
Social innovation and responsible capital
My newest area of work is the least finished, and I present it that way deliberately. Having built products, advised governments and led academic teams, I am now studying venture capital and early-stage investment, because access to the right capital is one of the barriers I watched good ideas fail against.
I am developing this expertise through structured learning and fellowship programmes, and through conversations with founders and investors working on education and skills across Africa and the UK. My ambition, over time, is to help direct patient capital towards social innovations that serve the people they were built for.
